Jim Balsillie & Mike Lazaridis
Former directors/co-founders | Research In Motion Ltd.
Since Jim Balsillie joined Research in Motion in 1992 to help the company with strategy, he and co-founder Mike Lazaridis have led the creation of a US$20-billion-a-year behemoth that was the pride of Canada and the envy of many technology entrepreneurs globally. And who says happy days won't be here again for RIM? Comebacks happen.
Lazaridis told PROFIT in 2009 that Canadians should be "grateful for the opportunities afforded in this country and at this time in history." The RIM boys took full advantage of that opportunity. We should be grateful for that, too.
