Gender wage gap: 14.6 per cent

Annual salary, male: $55,885.44
Annual salary, female: $47,746.92

Ontarians are highly paid on the national scale; only two provinces pay its men more each year, and just one provides its women with a larger average income. And along with their healthy salaries relative to what others in the country take home, there is more good news for women in Ontario: the wage gap is shrinking. Last year's 14.6 per cent difference between men and women's salaries is down from 19.1 per cent five years ago.
