Tim Hortons' continued growth will be hard as it reaches the limit of what consumers are willing to buy. The coffee and donut shop runs the risk that people who previously bought two mediums might be happy with an extra large — thereby cannibalizing its own sales. And a 30-ounce cup of coffee may be beyond consumers' appetite. Upsizing may have an upside for now, but the money to be made from ever-expanding cup sizes is not bottomless.
