Average annual tuition cost: $5,601

Saskatchewan schools receive just 16 per cent of their funding from student-paid tuition (66 per cent is subsidized by the provincial government), which is the second-lowest mark in the nation, according to the National Post's figures. But not all students in the Prairies get off so easy. The annual cost for a dentistry student to attend school in Saskatchewan is a whopping $32,960, the highest amount in the country by more than $6,500.
