Certainly many Canadians regret having to pay for the simple convenience of putting air in their tires. Where once a few bursts of air were free of charge to customers and passersby, you'd now be hard-pressed to find a major gas station in Canada that doesn't charge before it cooperates. To fill up your tires at the Petro-Canadas of the country, at least 50 cents is needed today, and in many places a loonie is the going rate.
