Home prices in Canada rose 1.7 per cent from March 2012. Compared to last year, average prices are up in 80 per cent of Canadian markets. However, Vancouver and Toronto, two of Canada's most active markets, tend to greatly affect the national average, bringing it down to a modest 0.9 per cent growth year-over-year.
